Tourism Auckland spins Wheel of Holidays in Australia

Tourism Auckland has this week joined a radio competition in Sydney to help entice more visitors to the city of sails.

A trip to Auckland is one of the major prizes in a Wheel of Holidays competition on Radio 2GB, which is the city’s most popular station for listeners over age 25.

During the three-week competition Sydneysiders will register online and go in the draw to spin the wheel of holidays, where they could win the ultimate Auckland break.

Tourism Auckland chief executive, Graeme Osborne, says this opportunity to partner with Radio 2GB fits well with our ongoing program of promotional activity in the Australian market.

“Auckland is already the number one international holiday destination for Australian travellers, but we need to work hard to boost visitor numbers and forward bookings,” says Graeme.

“A competition like this will help to further raise the profile of Auckland as an attractive holiday destination.”

Auckland’s $10,000 prize package includes business class flights for two people on Emirates and five nights accommodation at the luxurious Hilton Hotel and Fossil Cove on Waiheke Island.

During the promotion Auckland will receive significant airtime on Sydney’s popular 2GB station, where each week 438,000 people tune in who intend to travel in the next 12 months.

Tourism Auckland’s involvement in this competition comes hot on the heels of a three-week promotion with Channel 10 and 98FM in Perth, which saw winners of a Gamer vs Trainer competition win a trip to Auckland.
