New chocolate bar has an Auckland flavour

Auckland’s harbour, skyline and iconic Rangitoto Island are the stars of a new luxury chocolate bar.

The gourmet bar, produced by Devonport Chocolates, is a fusion of chocolate and art. It features wrapping with a lively Auckland-themed illustration by local artist Fraser Williamson.

The fun image captures the vibrancy of Auckland, with the Auckland Museum and SkyTower paired with a seagull, boats in the harbour and a man jogging.

Tourism Auckland chief executive, Graeme Osborne, says it’s wonderful to see Auckland promoted in this novel way.

“Our skyline and harbour are brilliant Auckland assets and we’re delighted to see them incorporated into this new product. I expect the bar will appeal to locals and tourists alike.”

Alongside the Auckland-themed chocolate bar is one based on Devonport and another with a New Zealand kiwiana graphic.

The bars, which are designed as a gift for New Zealanders to send overseas and for tourists to take home, come in mouthwatering dark and milk hokey pokey flavours and hazelnut strawberry.
